Starting Your New Life in Christ

  Timothy Tye homepage

This message is for people who have just accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior. If you are not yet a believer, I recommend that you read the following messages:
  1. God's Good News to You
  2. If Tomorrow Never Comes
You may have accepted Christ at a moment of euphoria, or after much soul searching. You may have done so with much trepidation, or with curiosity, or in complete apathy. Whatever route you took to get here, you have made the right choice, and I congratulate you for it. As God's little messenger, I want to help you start your new life in Christ with minimal cultural shock.

As you may have noticed upon receiving Christ into your life, some things have changed, yet many appear the same. The sun goes on shining. The seas still rush to shore. Although eternal life has begun when you accepted Christ (John 10:10), yet you can expect a physical death on earth. Do not be disappointed, rather look forward to the day when God will raise you up and give you a new incorruptible body (1 Cor 15:42-49).

So how do you fill this remaining time on earth? God has a purpose for you, as He does for each and every one of His children (John 10:10). It's a wonderful plan of a meaningful, fulfilling, rewarding life, and I'm here to share it with you.

The first thing to do is to get to know God. Although God knows you all your life, He may seem like a stranger for now. A caring stranger, but still one you need to find time to know. The more you know God, His likes and dislikes, His expectations and so on, the more you will understand and appreciate how much He loves you, and wants to fill up your new life in the most beautiful way.

Let me lay out, step by step, the things to do, as you move progress into your new life in Christ.
  1. Getting to know God's Word
  2. Learning to Communicate with God (to be added soon)
  3. Selecting a Church
  4. Getting Baptised(to be added soon)
  5. Becoming God's New Messenger (to be added soon)
How your life changes depends on how willingly you open the door of your heart and let God in. As you get to know God more and more, you will come to love, appreciate and enjoy His company. And this life on earth is your opportunity to glorify God, to demonstrate your love and gratitude to Him for all that He has done for you.
